Village Church
Village Church is where real people experience Jesus together.
We are part of a movement of God’s people across the Las Vegas Valley, where disciples make disciples, leaders develop new leaders, and churches plant new churches so that more people can encounter Jesus and be part of a village of people following Jesus together.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
—Matthew 28:19-20

Our Core Values
-
There is only one living and true God. He is intelligent, spiritual, and personal, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. We owe Him our highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Deuteronomy 6:4 | Isaiah 45:5-7 | 1 Corinthians 8:4 | Matthew 28:19 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | 1 Timothy 2:4
-
God as Father reigns with loving care over His universe, His creatures, and human history according to His grace. He is all-powerful, all-loving, and all-wise. God is truly Father to those who become His children through faith in Jesus Christ, and He is fatherly towards all men.
Psalm 145:8-9 | 1 Corinthians 8:6 | Genesis 1:1-31 | Ephesians 4:6 | John 1:12 | Romans 8:15 | Galatians 4:5 | Hebrews 12:5-9
-
God the Son is eternal. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, becoming both God and man. Jesus revealed God’s will perfectly, taking on human nature without sin. He fulfilled the divine law through His obedience and, through His death on the cross, provided redemption from sin. He rose from the dead, appeared to His disciples, ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at God’s right hand. He will return in power and glory to judge the world. Jesus lives in all believers as the ever-present Lord.
John 10:30, 14:9 | 1 John 1:3 | Colossians 1:15-17 | Hebrews 1:2 | Philippians 2:5-8 | 1 Timothy 2:5
-
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired the Scriptures, illuminates truth, exalts Christ, and convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He calls people to the Savior, effects regeneration, cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts. He seals believers until the day of final redemption and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.
1 Corinthians 2:10-13 | Ephesians 4:30 | Matthew 28:19 | Acts 5:3-4, 28:25-26 | 1 Corinthians 12:1-6 | Hebrews 10:14-15 | John 16:7-14
-
The Holy Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired and serves as the record of God revealing Himself to humanity. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction, authored by God, and is completely without error. It shows the depths of God’s love and the principles by which He judges us. Therefore, it will always be the true center of Christian unity and the supreme standard for testing all human behavior, beliefs, and religious teachings. It is our only infallible rule of faith and practice.
1 Corinthians 2:7-14 | 2 Peter 1:20-21 | 1 Corinthians 2:13 | 1 Thessalonians 2:13 | 2 Timothy 3:16-17 | Matthew 5:18, 24:35 | John 10:35 | Hebrews 4:12 | Psalm 119:89

Man was created by God in His own image and is the crowning work of His creation. Originally innocent, man was given the freedom of choice. By his own choice, man sinned against God, bringing sin into the human race. Through Satan's temptation, man fell from innocence, inheriting a sin nature and an inclination toward sin. Only God’s grace can bring man into holy fellowship and enable him to fulfill God’s purpose. Human dignity is evident as we are created in God’s image and because Christ died for us; therefore, every person deserves respect and Christian love.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It includes regeneration, repentance and faith, sanctification, and glorification.
Regeneration: The new birth, a work of God’s grace where believers become new creatures in Christ. It involves a heart change by the Holy Spirit, leading to repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
John 3:3-8 | Titus 3:5Repentance and Faith: These are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance involves turning from sin to God. Faith involves accepting Jesus Christ and surrendering to Him as Lord and Savior. Justification, a declarative act of God, pronounces believers righteous through Christ’s atoning death, bringing peace with God.
Acts 20:20-21 | Romans 5:1Sanctification: Beginning at the new birth, this experience sets the believer apart for God’s purposes and enables growth in Christ-likeness through the Holy Spirit. Growth in grace continues throughout life.
Acts 20:32 | 1 Corinthians 1:2, 30, 6:11 | 2 Thessalonians 2:13 | Hebrews 2:11 | 1 Peter 1:2Glorification: The final state of the redeemed, culminating in eternal blessedness.
Romans 8:16-17 | 2 Peter 1:4 | 1 John 3:2-3

All men will experience a final resurrection. Those who have surrendered to Jesus Christ will be raised to everlasting life in Heaven. Those who have not will face everlasting condemnation in Hell.

The New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers united by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. They observe Christ’s ordinances, follow His teachings, and extend the gospel worldwide. The church is autonomous, operating under Christ’s lordship and Scriptural guidance. It is led by pastors/elders and served by deacons. The church is also described as the body of Christ, encompassing all the redeemed of all ages.
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 | 2 Corinthians 11:2 | Ephesians 5:23-32 | Revelation 19:7-8 | Ephesians 1:22, 4:15 | Colossians 1:18
-
Christian baptism involves immersing a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It symbolizes the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, their death to sin, and resurrection to new life. Baptism is a public testimony stating that one has placed their faith completely in Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:38-42, 8:36-39 | Romans 6:1-11
-
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience where believers partake of bread and the fruit of the vine to remember the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
Acts 2:41-42 | 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23
Our Beliefs
Village Church is a local church dedicated to making disciples for Jesus Christ and creating community for the people of Southwest Las Vegas. We welcome all people, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.
Meet the Balfours.
Hello, we are the Balfours: Bradley and Annie, Chirysh, Michael, Lydia, Ruby, and Benjamin.
We were married in April 2006 and moved to New Jersey to start our first ministry together in January of 2007. For 12 years, we ministered to the youth of Paterson, New Jersey, and met our children.
In 2018, God moved our family from New Jersey to Las Vegas to assist with a church plant. After being here for about a year, it became clear in our hearts that we were called to start another church in Las Vegas. We spent the next couple of years completing a City Residency with Send Network—a church planting residency with our sending church, Hope Church—and falling in love with the people of Las Vegas.
We are humbled, yet honored, to plant our lives where Jesus is building His Church. It’s an honor to meet you and share our passion for Jesus with you.
